Music to my ear..... This is the new tagline of Quezon City. "Q.C. Bago Sarili", It’s like a local version of the famous JFK quote "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country".
Last month, we started looking for a new house to live in, we need to transfer to different house because my daugthers were already growing up, our place getting smaller for us. We looked for houses in QC but the rent we’re very expensive - decent houses range from 10K to 25K.
I heard that it was a lot cheaper in Marikina compared to Q.C. so we looked for a house there and found a Two Storey Apartment at 6,500.00/month perfectly fit for a family of four. It was the best choice we could have, it’s cheap, the location is good, except that it wasn’t built in Q.C.
While driving back home, i was thinking i’m already about to leave Q.C. I felt the loneliness inside me. It’s felt like i’m leaving my own family. I can’t help but be lonely. When we reach home, my wife noticed how the way I talked - how the way I communicate with her. She knew it. I told her I don’t want to leave Q.C. We will stay in QC even if it means paying additional rent for a house.
Sounds crazy but it’s true. I love Quezon City because this is my Hometown, born in Samar on 1977, my family transferred to Metro Manila, Quezon City, in 1980. I grew up here, that’s the reason why quezon city has personal attachment to me. I grew up here, all of my memories we’re in Quezon City. My family experienced many hardship here from Fire to Demolition yet I still love QC. She agreed.
As much as possible I will never leave QC. But I can’t stay as a renter forever, I need to have my own house, a house I can call my own home. I just hope that sooner than later I will have enough money to buy and build a house within QC. I just hope....
