Posted by Batuts
Thursday, September 18, 2008
You have heard about Leah Salonga, about Manny Pacquiao and perhaps more recently about Arnel Pineda, the new lead vocalist of “Journey”. They are just few of the hundreds, thousands, and countless other Filipinos whom we can certainly call “world-class”.
There are millions out there who are lesser known… and YOU could be one of them.
Wherever you are, whatever you do, we encourage you to register (it’s FREE!) and upload your profile, portfolio of works, achievements, videos, and photos for the world to see. This is not only for your own benefit but more so for the benefit of millions of others who would be inspired by your God-given skills and talents. Likewise, employers, business investors, contractors, producers and the like whether local or foreign might have a need for your expertise. WORLD CLASS FILIPINO could be your meeting place.
Other Filipinos have already paved the way… let us go on with the momentum. It’s high [Read whole article]

Imus Cavite now celebrates Wagayway Festival 2008 starting May 24, 2008 and will end on May 28, 2008, to reclaim Imus Cavite as Flag Capital of the Philippines.
Different from what we know, Imus Cavite, lead by Mayor Manny Maliksi and Vice Mayor Mandy Ilano, claims that the flag sewn by Marcela Agoncillo in Hongkong was first waved on Imus Cavite after the Katipuneros beaten the Spaniards on May 28, 1898 also called as Battle of Alapan.
Does this mean we need to re-write hundred-thousands of Philippine History books? My oh my!
THE BATTLE OF ALAPAN

By May 1898, the army had about 12,000 troops. The battle of Alapan was Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo’s first victory after returning from overseas (Singapore) on May 19, 1898. The Alapan I Elementary School now stands on the [Read whole article]

By Jojo Casilao
Kasa-kasama ko, saan man magpunta,
laging kong kalaro, sa tuwi-tuwina.
Dun sa may simbahan, sa’ming paaralan,
kay gandang pagmasdan, tuwing nagliliparan.
Nais kong abutin, nais kong hawakan,
subalit mataas, hindi malapitan.
Malambing n’yong awit, kay sarap pakinggan,
inaabangan ko, sa katanghalian.

GOODBYE PANDESAL
Pandesal price expected to rise this April

Pandesal ang paboritong almusal ng pinoy
Pinoys favorite breakfast partner is expected to rise again this April 15. This is no good news. No one can deny that pandesal is filipinos most favorite breakfast meal. Majority of filipinos prefer pandesal breakfast to be paired with coffee.
I work with a vending service provider and we have customer who bring their pandesal to our vending machine where they will buy their coffee. That’s true!
Pandesal has been part of many filipinos lives. This mean that this price increase would again batter many of our countrymen. If i’m not mistaken, pandesal was the cheapest breakfast meal back then. Now, i don’t know. For 1.00 - 2.50 a piece, pandesal has become a meal of middle class families.
Just few weeks back, it was rice now it’s pandesal. Does not this mean Goodbye Pandesal na din? Goodbye Rice and Pandesal and say hello to Kamote!!!!
"KA-MO-TEEEEEEE".... "BILI KAYO [Read whole article]

Birth Anniversary of KKK Supremo Roman Basa
(February 28, 1848-September 1897)

On July 7, 1892, Andres Bonifacio among his friends formed a secret society called "Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalang ang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan" or KKK.
The 1896 Revolution was the handiwork of many Filipino patriots and the Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (KKK) was the instrument that ensured the success of the revolution.
The death of the La Liga Filipina and the deportation of Dr. Jose P. Rizal to Dapitan impressed upon the Filipinos that they could attain their demand for reforms in the country only through the use of force. Thus on the night of July 7, 1892, Deodato Arellano, Ladislao Diwa, Andres Bonifacio, Valentin Diaz, Ildefonso Laurel, and many other patriots founded the KKK. Many other patriotic sons of the country soon joined the Katipunan. One of them was Don Roman Basa.
Don Roman Basa was born on February 28, 1848, in San Roque, Cavite. He finished his studies under Fr. Pedro Mańalak, chaplain of the Spanish garrison in Cavite. He became an employee at the headquarters of the colonial navy in Cavite. Imbued with the desire to see his country free, he joined the Katipunan on November 9, [Read whole article]
